Unlike other filter technologies cross-flow filters are able to clarify cloudy liquids with relatively high turbidity level. This filter is delivered with an additional mesh filter cartridge with a siliphos container (ca. 50g). The cartridge can be optionally inserted in the filter housing in case a water softening or phosphate -bonding is necessary.

A ball valve allows you to wash the filter without removing the filter material and to discard dirt particles detained in the mesh.

Siliphos filters can extend the service life of your washing machine or dishwasher and reduce the detergent consumption up to 30% depending on water hardness, with an increased cleaning efficiency. Additional salts may be completely dispensed with if the filter is installed to the dishwasher. Moreover it prevents corrosion of water pipes and the formation of so-called ‘brown’ or ‘red’ water caused by the oxidation of the iron pipes.

The filter has a service life of approx. 6 months depending on the water quality and can be renewed by simply replacing the siliphos granules. Set the time point (month) for your next replacement of filter material on the scale attached at the top of the filter. The dirt indicator ( based on counter pressure) allows you to establish if a filter cleaning is necessary or not.

The filter has to be installed before the Aquastop of the washing machine or dishwasher.

Mode of action

Phosphating designates no water softening in the proper sense but more keeping minerals which cause scale in a dissolved and suspended state at higher temperatures. ( siliphos "ties up” hardness and renders it harmless).Through the use of polyphosphate, the magnesium and calcium will form a soluble complex that will bond to the phosphate. A welcome side effect is the corossion protection of the water pipes and the slow reduction of remaining incrustrations.
